The 31st FISU World University Games opens Blue Moon professionally ensures cleaning needs at the international event

On 28 July, the 31st summer edition of the FISU World University Games held its opening ceremony in the main stadium of the Dong’an Lake Sports Park in Chengdu. Accentuating the requisites of "simple, safe, and wonderful", the event with Chinese characteristics, the spirit of the times, and youthful charms kicked off.

With its theme echoing the Universiade’s slogan "Chengdu Makes Dreams Come True", the ceremonial stage came in splendid colors, with "brilliant sunshine" as the feature threading through all the performances. The program "Young Dream Chasers" had three parts, namely "Pursuit of Light", "Passion for Sports" and "Celebration of Friendship", showcasing the vibrant energy of youth. The main torch-lighting ceremony began at 21:40, with the cauldron printed with "the Golden Sun Bird", the logo of the Chengdu City, slowly rising up. With the audience as witnesses, the 31 torchbearers ran into the arena, and stood around the cauldron to light it up, awaking "the Golden Sun Bird" that shines ever so bright. The lights carried best wishes to the university students from around the world. Rich Sichuan elements were also incorporated into the ceremony to show the world the charms of the ancient Chongqing-Sichuan culture and Chinese heritage.

The
Chengdu Universiade is "THE" arena of sports competition for young students worldwide and has been hailed as the "cradle of sports stars". From 28 July to 8 August, this year’s event covers 269 events across 18 sports. As understood, there are 411 athletes from Chinese delegation, including Olympic champions such as Zhang Yufei, Li Bingjie, Zhang Jiaqi, and Zou Jingyuan, participating in all 18 sports. On the morning of 29 July, Chinese athlete Cao Maoyuan won the first gold medal in the final of the Wushu men's Nanquan event for the Chinese team.
